That’s what it feels like anyways. We just took a huge load of books to the used bookstore and we still had a ton. The small bookcases were not cutting it anymore. I was so excited when we came across these beauties on clearance at target. They were pretty basic but would match the desk we already had in the Library.

I loved the fact it had five shelves and I could not wait to get to organizing. (My favorite stress relieving activity) Before I could get to filling the shelves I had to account for what the bookshelves would be storing.
1)Cd’s-We had downsized I Cd collection considerably thanks to Itunes but still have some Cd’s to house some place inconspicuous.
2)Hubby’s text books and school stuff needed to be easy to grab but again I wanted to be out of the way.
3)Craft Supplies- Most of my crafting is done in this room and I needed some place to hide my most used crafting supplies.
4) Finally – the most obvious… books
I picked up some bins and photo boxes at Target and went to organizing. I used my Silhouette to print and cut perfect labels for the photo boxes, which ironically hold some of my Silhouette supplies.
The first thing I did was organize the Cd’s and school books in the canvas bins. and the craft supplies in the photo boxes. I then organized the books by color, so they would be more pleasing visually. Although I must note my husband cringed as I took some of the covers of his beloved books. After he saw the completed project he was glad I did it.
I think they turned out pretty well. Still working on the tops of the bookshelves but that is a post for another day. My favorite part has to be the photo boxes, it makes so many things so easily accessible.
